Press Release: Aiisha launches new collection at Dubai Fashion Week

Aiisha showed a confident and very accessible collection of eveningwear during the Dubai Fashion Week.

In a move away from her trademark corsetry, the only bone structuring was to be found in the occasional top.

"I wanted to make this collection as simple as possible", she explained.
"I wanted it to be less restricted, more practical. Yes it's eveningwear, but it can still be comfortable. Less is more."

Using a palette of off-white, baby peach and pink, the collection frequently featured an empire-line silhouette for dresses, regardless of length, with floaty chiffon skirts a trademark.
Chiffon, white knee-length tunics with silver beading also made an appearance, with the diaphanous appearance of dresses.

The designer's fascination with the back was clear in the detailing, with cutaway material and embroidery common around the neck, shoulders and occasionally down as far as the middle of the back. "I focus a lot on the backs of the dresses", explained Aiisha. "I think it's sexier".

And in an innovative twist, many of the gowns had '3D' elements, such as padded collars and shoulder straps, embellished with beads.
Contemporary quilting continued the theme in a coat and even the bodice of a dress.

And tying the collection together were beaded amulet-style bracelets that sat on the back of the models' hands, picking up on the beading that shimmered everywhere else.
